I’ve heard people occasionally get nails in their tires. It’s an easy and cheap fix, and they’re back on the road. I wouldn’t know anything about that, as any time I ever have air loss from a tire, it’s catastrophic and expensive. Seriously... Any time I’ve ever bought a car with good tires, one inevitably gets destroyed in short order.
They found a big honking gash on the inner sidewall. One new Pilot Sport A/S, please.

One of m y 245/40/19 MPSS tires lasted exactly 3 days before it met it’s demise to a screwdriver.

Tires are such a pain in the ass. At least seems like you can replace individual tires in this case. When I first bought my Legact GT wagon a while back I drove up the coast to Portland and back along with my dad (lived in the Bay Area at the time). Over 4th of July no less.
Of course got a flat tire outside Tilamook on the 4th, with everything closed. Managed to limp along with donut to our campground that day, but next day had to replace all 4 tires because one was ruined with a nail through it. Especially after just having dumped a ton of cash in to buying the car was a pretty painful introduction to AWD tread depth sensitivities.

What does one of those cost? I just spent $339 for one Pirelli Cinturato t ire on my Volvo. I could have spent $600 and gotten four new Nokian ZLine A/S installed but the dealership replaced one tire for free, I bought another to match and the other two tires only have about 5000 miles on them. It was not an easy choice.
Sorry about your tire!

You’re turning into a Volvo hoarder. I approve!

OUCH!!!
Yeah, luckily these only have about 10k miles, and I don't have AWD to destroy with mismatched tread depth!
